U.K. / INDIA CO-ORDINATOR

Mary Skaag
Co-Founder of Balamma Satram
Fr L. Sarveswara, Co Founder of Balamma Satram, Holy Family Home for the Needy, passed away on 06th September 2020.
On 27th November 2019 he suffered a severe stroke which resulted in his loss of speech. It was thought that his health was gradually improving after some months but on 06th September 2020 he suffered a second heart attack which instantly took his life.
Although his death was premature, just short of his 56th birthday, Fr. Sarveswara had achieved his vision and dream of helping the most vulnerable people in society. He never showed pity to others as he said that to show pity could be condescending and that we remain distant; He did not show sympathy because he never wanted to feel superior to those in his care. Fr Sarveswara’s vision was drawn from his compassion to embrace the other persons’ problems, it was the taking on the burdens of those in his care. It was his humanising way of dealing with the people that made him loved by all who knew him.
